Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) has launched a personnel registration scheme for quality engineers. The purpose of the scheme is to promote quality fundamental and vocational education and meet the demand for high-level talent to participate in international quality activities. 

The scheme evaluates the professional competence of personnel engaged in quality fields including quality innovation, control, improvement and service.

The categories of personnel registration for quality engineer include:

• Registered Senior Quality Engineer (Professor Grade)
• Registered Senior Quality Engineer
• Registered Quality Engineer
• Registered Assistant Quality Engineer
• Registered Provisional Quality Engineer
