Food Safety Management
As people have become increasingly concerned about food safety, it is critical for suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers in the food supply chain to ensure food safety. Effective food supply chain management systems will not only enhance such companies’ reputations, but also provide them with a strong competitive edge.
Certification Standard

The ISO 22000 standard is fully compatible with ISO 9001. It specifies the requirements for a food safety management system. The standard combines the following generally recognised key elements to ensure food safety along the food chain, up to the point of final consumption:
  • Interactive communication
  • System management
  • Prerequisite programmes
  • HACCP principles
System Requirements

The ISO 22000 follows the same structure of ISO 9001 with the following sections:
  • Food Safety Management System (FSMS) – General Requirements
  • Management Responsibility
  • Resource Management
  • Planning and Realization of Safe Products
  • Validation, Verification and Improvement of the FSMS
Pre-requisite programmes ( PRPs), Operational PRPs and HACCP plan are required to be established, implemented, monitored and updated when necessary.

Benefits of Certification
  • Demonstrates compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory food safety requirements.
  • Evaluates and assesses customer requirements and demonstrates conformity.
  • Effectively educates interested parties in the food supply chain on food safety issues.
  • Enhances customer satisfaction.
  • Resources optimisation internally and along the food supply chain with better planning and control measures.
