Introduction

This course is designed to enhance delegates' knowledge and understanding of the framework and implementation of the HKQAA Sustainability Building Index (HKQAA SBI). The training will be based on the HKQAA SBI Metrics which is developed based on the UNEP-FI / SBCI’S Financial and Sustainability Metrics Report published in 2009 and a few key ISO Standards regarding building sustainability aiming to provide a user-friendly and inexpensive building assessment system with a right balance between usability and technical rigor.

Delegates of participants intend to subscribe for the HKQAA SBI and professionals who intend to become a listed SBI verifier.

Course Objectives

• To introduce the building sustainability concepts
• To provide an in-depth look into the HKQAA SBI Metrics
• To understand the verification process of the HKQAA SBI

Course Contents

The training course will first introduce the concept of sustainability and sustainable building. The next part will be introducing the HKQAA SBI framework and take an in-depth look in the HKQAA SBI Metrics. The last part will be teaching the verification process and techniques of HKQAA SBI.

Delivery Method

The training course will contain individual and group work activities, including discussions, workshops and case studies. Knowledge based presentation will also be used in the training course to help attendees understanding the content of HKQAA SBI.

Certificate of Attendance

Certificate of Attendance will be issued upon course completion.
