Performance Management through KPI Setting

 

To succeed in a competitive business environment, an organization must establish a long-term development direction and create an effective performance management mechanism. This helps to implement business strategies and transform them into key performance indicators (KPIs) for objective measurement and monitoring of goals. Targeted measures can then be taken based on the results, leading to improved operational performance.


Course Content:

Module 1: Introduction to Performance Management

  • Concepts and functions of performance management

  • Integration of performance management with other management systems

  • Establishing annual goals, key performance indicators, quantifiable targets, and action plans for organizations and departments

  • 4 measurement categories for performance indicators

  • Examples of key performance indicators in various industries

  • Balancing the combination and weighting of key performance indicators

 

Module 2: Design and Implementation of Performance Management System

  • Implementing business strategies and long-term goals for organizations

  • Defining the functions and responsibilities of each department

  • Connecting horizontal and vertical aspects of key performance indicators

  • Establishing performance databases and IT support requirements

  • Strategies, deployment, and precautions for implementing performance management

  • Coordination between performance management and incentive policies

  • Establishing a culture of meritocracy and continuous improvement in organizations

  • Sharing successful case studies of implementing performance management and simulating the establishment of a performance management system


Under the guidance of the instructor, Trainees will simulate the role of a project manager to learn how to design a performance management system.  The instructor will provide feedback and improvement methods for the students' assignments.  Trainees will also receive a set of easy-to-use tools, including application forms and examples of performance indicators, for use in establishing a performance management system in the future.

 

Target audience: Business owners, management executives, operations department heads, and human resources department managers.
