There is an increasing concern of environmental performance of products from EU region. New EU Directives, Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Restriction of use of certain Hazardous Materials (RoHS), and Eco-design Requirements for Energy Using Products (EuP) will be in force in 2005 and 2006 respectively. These directives will have a profound impact to manufacturers in Hong Kong and PRD region.
In this regard, Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency established the ECO MANUFACTURING RESOURCES CENTRE in June 2005 to provide comprehensive environmental solutions to manufacturers in Greater China.
